The Clyde Fliers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 50-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Port Clinton. While losing is never fun, Clyde can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 467th, while Port Clinton is ranked 184th).
Despite the loss, Clyde saw an underclassman step up: Kenzlie Guhn scored 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Guhn has scored all season. Cora Liskai was another key contributor, scoring two points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Clyde has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Port Clinton, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Clyde will look to defend their home court on Friday against Norwalk at 7:00 p.m. Norwalk will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Port Clinton, they will head out on the road to face off against Willard at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Willard is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
