Brentwood has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Monday. They will square off against the Albert Gallatin Colonials at 7:30 p.m.
Last Friday, Brentwood was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 43-38 to Chartiers-Houston. While losing is never fun, Brentwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 175th, while Chartiers-Houston is ranked 27th).
Meanwhile, even though Ringgold scored an imposing 56 points on Thursday, Albert Gallatin still came out on top. Albert Gallatin took their game against Ringgold 66-56. The win was just what Albert Gallatin needed coming off of a 79-48 defeat in their prior match.
Albert Gallatin's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mykel Belt, who scored 18 points along with 7 assists. That makes it two consecutive games in which Belt has scored at least 25% of Albert Gallatin's points. Jason Jackson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Brentwood's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Albert Gallatin, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Brentwood skirted past Albert Gallatin 58-55 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brentwood since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
