The Saluda Tigers waltzed into their game on Friday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They came out on top against Ninety Six by a score of 35-26. This was payback for Saluda, who suffered a 37-27 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Despite the loss, Ninety Six still got an impressive performance from Janiyah Squire, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. Squire is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played.
Saluda's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. As for Ninety Six, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
Saluda will head out on the road to square off against Mid-Carolina at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mid-Carolina's defense has only allowed 23.5 points per game this season, so Saluda's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Ninety Six, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Newberry at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
