The Greenfield-Central Cougars put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past New Castle 70-50. Greenfield-Central has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Braylon Mullins, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Greenfield-Central's points. Another player making a difference was Braden Robertson, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Greenfield-Central's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. As for New Castle, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
Greenfield-Central won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Eastern Hancock at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. Eastern Hancock will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Greenfield-Central is ranked eighth). New Castle won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Rushville at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. Hopefully Rushville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
