The Mineral Ridge Rams can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent match on Wednesday. They blew past Maplewood 74-33 at home. Mineral Ridge's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Ava Hulett was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. She hasn't dropped below 20 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Gilbert, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Maplewood's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Morgan Himes, who scored 12 points. Aliah Brumit was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
The win (which was Mineral Ridge's sixth in a row) raised their record to 20-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Maplewood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.
Mineral Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Maplewood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pymatuning Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
