The Plantation Colonels put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 68-60 win over Taravella. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Plantation's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jabari Washington led the charge by scoring 22 points along with five steals. The match was Washington's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Daterrius Heller, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and five steals.
Taravella's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was James Ganley, who scored 20 points. Camden Fearon was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six assists.
Plantation pushed their record up to 8-0 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Taravella, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2.
Plantation will be home for the holidays to greet South Plantation at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Averaging 66.1 so far this season, South Plantation's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Plantation better be ready for a challenge. Taravella will be staying on the road on December 27th to face off against Seacrest Country Day at 3:30 p.m. on December 27th. Seacrest Country Day is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
