The Ord Chanticleers had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down Broken Bow 62-45 on Tuesday. Given Ord's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Broken Bow is ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Blake Hinrichs, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jordan Williams, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Ord pushed their record up to 9-11 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Broken Bow, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-13.
Ord and O'Neill will face off at 7:45 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully O'Neill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday. As for Broken Bow, they will be playing at home against Cozad at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Cozad will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Broken Bow surely won't give up without a fight.
