North Branford put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Morgan Huskies 20-1. The result was nothing new for the Thunderbirds, who have now won eight matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Emilyn Nay made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Lexi Falcioni was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Alia Martone, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

North Branford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

North Branford's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Morgan, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Looking ahead, North Branford will host Valley Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Thunderbirds' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Morgan, they are taking a road trip to take on East Hampton at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
