The Eagles have beaten the Blue Devils the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Blue Devils has come to flipping the script.

Leading Wheeler to victory were Ashton Beene and Case Null. Beene almost dropped a double-double with 32 points and nine boards, while Null went 13-for-19 en route to 30 points. The matchup was Null's third in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Brandon Lowery, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 13 rebounds.

Wheeler's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Ashland, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Wheeler wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 72-68 loss against Itawamba Agricultural on the 18th. As for Ashland, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 80-47 victory against Hickory Flat on the 18th.
