Basketball Recap: Bethany Myers Key Part of a Team Effort in Spartans Win

A well-balanced attack led Central Davidson over North Davidson in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. The Central Davidson Spartans took down the North Davidson Black Knights 42-25. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Central Davidson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bethany Myers out in front who went 5 of 8 on her way to 17 points. Myers has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Raegan McCarn was another key player, putting up 11 points.

When it comes to explaining why North Davidson lost, don't look at Cali Cooper. Despite the final result, she posted 11 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Cooper a new career-high in blocks (two). Emily Bauer also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Central Davidson has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for North Davidson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-10.
