Edgewood has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Waynesville Spartans at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday. Edgewood has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Wednesday, Edgewood beat Bishop Fenwick 58-47.
Rylie Homan continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. That's the first time this season that she pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddy Judd, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Waynesville put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Oakwood at home to the tune of 75-30. Waynesville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 26 points or more this season.
Edgewood pushed their record up to 5-7 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Waynesville, their victory bumped their record up to 16-0.
