The Pike Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 87-65 walloping at the hands of Fishers. While losing is never fun, Pike can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while Fishers is ranked first).
Pike's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Damon Howard, who scored 20 points along with two steals, and DeZhon Hall who scored 19 points along with two steals. Howard continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Coryell Spates, who scored ten points.
Jonanthony Hall continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fishers, scoring 26 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hall has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Keenan Garner, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Pike bumped their record down to 3-8 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Fishers, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pike will take on Perry Meridian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fishers, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Brownsburg at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Hopefully Brownsburg focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Saturday.
