Hough is 8-2 against the Lions since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Hough Huskies will head out on the road to face off against the West Charlotte Lions at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Hough can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They breezed by West Mecklenburg at home to the tune of 70-15. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Hough had established a 41 point advantage.
Hough's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jacquelyn Jakubecy, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Jakubecy continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ka'Leiya Jones, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely West Charlotte's strategy against the Titans on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that West Charlotte blew the Titans out of the water with a 68-21 final score. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-9.
Hough has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for West Charlotte, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-11.
Everything came up roses for Hough against the Lions in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 70-28 victory. With Hough ahead 51-13 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
