The Dewey Bulldoggers will take on the Muskogee Roughers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dewey is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
Dewey took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Miami by a score of 8-5. The Bulldoggers haven't had any issues with the Wardogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Eddie Rice was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Davis, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Dewey lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three match, Muskogee brought some dynamite into their most recent game. Everything went their way against Wagoner on Thursday as they made off with a 10-4 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Roughers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Kal-El Tripp spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Chris Daniels, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Muskogee is undefeated when Daniels posts two or more runs, but 5-16 otherwise. Kylin Blue was another key player, earning three RBI and one run.
Dewey's victory bumped their record up to 17-10. As for Muskogee, their win bumped their record up to 10-16.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Dewey has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Muskogee struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
