Pusch Ridge Christian Academy blew past Palo Verde 58-35. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-4.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alexis Ferbeyre, who scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ferbeyre has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Noelle Sunukjian, who scored ten points along with five steals.
Despite the loss, Palo Verde still got an impressive performance from Gaby Oliver, who scored 20 points along with six steals and two blocks. That was a full 57.1% of Palo Verde's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7. As for Palo Verde, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Winslow at 4:30 p.m. Winslow is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for Palo Verde, they will head out on the road to take on Santa Rita at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Santa Rita comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
