The Hitchcock County Falcons were the 47-25 winner over the Dundy County-Stratton Tigers when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Hitchcock County took a 51-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dundy County-Stratton on Tuesday.
Hitchcock County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Raegan Hagan, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Hagan is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Byanka Tyan, who scored 14 points.
Dundy County-Stratton can attribute much of their success to Clara Spargo, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Spargo scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Schneider, who scored nine points along with six steals.
Hitchcock County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Dundy County-Stratton, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hitchcock County will take on Alma at TBD on Friday. As for Dundy County-Stratton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Medicine Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Medicine Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
