If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Maynard. On Friday they take on Oakmont Regional at 7:00 PM. Maynard have bulldozed their previous three opponents, so Oakmont Regional might have their hands full.
Last Friday, Maynard put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They put the hurt on Tyngsborough with a sharp 36-7 victory. With Maynard ahead 22-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Meanwhile, Oakmont Regional didn't finish too far behind, but the squad still lost 20-26 to Littleton.
Maynard's win lifted them to 3-0 while Oakmont Regional's loss dropped them down to 1-2. In their win, Maynard relied heavily on senior Tommy Smith, who rushed for 211 yards and 4 touchdowns. Oakmont Regional will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
