Ansonia has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Twin Valley South Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Last Tuesday, Ansonia suffered a rough 67-45 loss at the hands of Bradford.
Meanwhile, Twin Valley South scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took down Tri-County North 66-52. With that win, Twin Valley South brought their scoring average up to 50.4 points per game.
Twin Valley South's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jandon Ankrom, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Ankrom scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Seth Vorhis, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Ansonia's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-4. As for Twin Valley South, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.
Everything came up roses for Ansonia against Twin Valley South in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 70-42 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ansonia since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
