Southern Wake Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last ten games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Southern Wake Academy suffered their biggest loss since November 17, 2023 on Tuesday. They suffered a rough 36-10 loss at the hands of Woods Charter. Southern Wake Academy has struggled against Woods Charter recently, as their game on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 61-21, which was the final score in River Mill's tilt against Chatham Charter on Friday. While losing is never fun, River Mill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 561st, while Chatham Charter is ranked 142nd).
Southern Wake Academy dropped their record down to 0-13 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home. As for River Mill, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
Southern Wake Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against River Mill in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, sneaking past 33-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Southern Wake Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
