Adding to the longest winning streak in Shasta Cascade this week, Fall River beat Weed 60-14. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Bulldogs.
The Cougars fell to Fall River 60-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Aidan Hagarty threw for 217 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 13 yards in the defeat.
Byron Mathes' team's dynamic duo of Hagarty and Rashaan Broomfield proved to be unstoppable against Rick Neugebauer's team, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Spencer Hall helped Weed's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 58 yards.
He went 9-20 with 1 interception.
5-foot-8 quarterback Jace Neugebauer of the Bulldogs is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,133. He has also thrown 12 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Tyler Ewing. The Modoc star has 28 catches for 506 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Etna takes on second place Weed.
Fall River's Michael Westlund is a mere 85 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 125 carries Westlund has accumulated 915 yard this year.
The Cougars' offense has recorded 305 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Etna has permitted only 118 on the year.
The Bulldogs led the league in scoring this week by notching 60 points on Weed. Neugebauer threw for 108 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 21 yards in the win.
