The Statesboro Blue Devils had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They secured a 45-40 W over Jenkins. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Statesboro has scored all season.
Leading Statesboro to victory were Kamron (kam) Mikell and Raylin Grant. Mikell scored nine points along with three steals, while Grant scored 14 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Muhammad Shareef, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Statesboro has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season. As for Jenkins, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.
Statesboro will head out on the road to challenge Bradwell Institute at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bradwell Institute will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive. As for Jenkins, they will square off against Laney at 11:30 a.m. on Monday.
