The Overland Trailblazers will take on the Franklin Panthers in a holiday battle at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday at. One thing working in Overland's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Even though Overland has not done well against Rock Canyon recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Overland snuck past Rock Canyon with a 70-66 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given Overland's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while Rock Canyon is ranked second).
Siraaj Ali continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Overland's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ronald Henry, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Franklin might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Eagle Rock an easy 72-50 victory. Franklin has not had much luck with Eagle Rock recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
The victory got Overland back to even at 3-3. As for Franklin, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
