Rockwell is 10-0 against American Prep WV since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Rockwell Marshals will head out on the road to face off against the American Prep WV Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Rockwell came tearing into Wednesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Freedom Prep Academy 83-8 at home. Rockwell's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Even though American Prep WV has not done well against Wasatch Academy recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. American Prep WV claimed a resounding 41-13 win over Wasatch Academy at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory American Prep WV has posted yet this season.
American Prep WV got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nicole Tran out in front who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Leticia Calderon, who scored 12 points.
Rockwell pushed their record up to 10-5 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.6 points per game. As for American Prep WV, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
Everything came up roses for Rockwell against American Prep WV in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 63-31 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rockwell since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
