St. Andrew has enjoyed the comforts of home their last seven games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Pinewood Christian Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully St. Andrew's focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, St. Andrew's ended up a good deal behind Bulloch Academy and lost 46-30. While losing is never fun, St. Andrew's can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 448th, while Bulloch Academy is ranked 158th).
Despite their defeat, St. Andrew's saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Addison Yates, who scored nine points, was perhaps the best of all.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Pinewood Christian beat Frederica Academy 42-36 on Tuesday.
St. Andrew's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 5-12. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.3 points per game. As for Pinewood Christian, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Things could have been worse for St. Andrew's, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 37-18 loss to Pinewood Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can St. Andrew's avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
