Even though the Hilton Head Island Seahawks scored an imposing 55 points on Tuesday, the Colleton County Cougars still came out on top. Colleton County enjoyed a cozy 72-55 win over the Seahawks. The win made it back-to-back wins for Colleton County.
Colleton County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mykeem Gant, who scored 23 points along with five steals and two blocks. Gant hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Da?veon Varner, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds.
Colleton County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Hilton Head Island, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.
Colleton County will face off against the Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bluffton is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Hilton Head Island will take on the Sharks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully May River focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
