Basketball Recap: Cienega Wins Going Away Against Casa Grande

It was a proper cat-fight when Cienega faced off against Casa Grande on Wednesday. The Bobcats enjoyed a cozy 71-55 victory over the Cougars. The win continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won three in a row.

It was another big night for Bobby Baltierrez, who shot 50% from the field en route to 18 points in addition to eight steals and seven boards. Baltierrez is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Jackson Moore was another key player, going 5-for-10 on his way to 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Cienega smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Casa Grande lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Phinneas Linehan, who posted 13 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Kael Hampton, who earned ten points and eight rebounds.

Cienega's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Casa Grande, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2.

Cienega didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 82-53 win against Maricopa on the 4th. As for Casa Grande, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 71-39 victory against Desert View on the 11th.
