West Marion's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Tylertown with a sharp 15-0 win. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Chiefs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Izzy Pittman made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Pittman was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Gracie Odom was a standout: she scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Laleigh Duncan, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-2.
West Marion was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .737. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .371 or higher in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Perry Central played in-conference for the first time on Tuesday and they got just the result they were looking for. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Tylertown.
Like West Marion, Perry Central also got a great game from a two-way player: Kenlynn Hinton. On the mound, she pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hinton was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Perry Central got a massive performance out of Aubrey Carter, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Journey Shows was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
The win got Perry Central back to even at 6-6-1. As for West Marion, their victory bumped their record up to 15-0.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. West Marion has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .592. However, it's not like Perry Central struggles in that department as they've averaged .593. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
West Marion took their win against Perry Central when the teams last played on March 7th by a conclusive 17-0. Will West Marion repeat their success, or does Perry Central has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
