Jordyn Battise made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played.
Meanwhile, Memorial got the win against Northbrook on Friday by a conclusive 17-2. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by seven runs or more this season.
Elise Adams made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Adams was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Sophie Vlasak was a standout: she scored three runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Isabella Borrego, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI.
Memorial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northbrook only posted an OBP of .357.
Memorial is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Jersey Village, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-18.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Jersey Village hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. However, it's not like Memorial struggles in that department as they've averaged .395. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Jersey Village suffered a grim 18-3 defeat to Memorial when the teams last played back in March. Will the Falcons have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
