After losing to the Manning Monarchs the last time they met, the Georgetown Bulldogs decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Georgetown took down Manning 61-43 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Georgetown.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Georgetown to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jari Ford, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ford has scored all season. Ty Stanley was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four blocks and two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Manning lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tavion Carter. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Jeffrey Ceasar, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Georgetown is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season. As for Manning, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-8.
Georgetown on the road again on Tuesday and play against Dillon at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Dillon will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive. Manning will take on Waccamaw at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
