After flying high against Orange Park on Tuesday, Fleming Island came back down to earth. The Golden Eagles took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bishop Kenny Crusaders on Thursday. Alexis Sowers had an outrageously good game for Bishop Kenny as she had 20 digs and two aces. What's more, Sowers posted five assists, the most she's had since back in October of 2024. Amaya Martinez also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.
Fleming Island suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 7-2. As for Bishop Kenny, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
