Abbeville has gone 8-2 against Ware Shoals recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Abbeville Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ware Shoals Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Ware Shoals will be up against a hot Abbeville team: the squad just extended their winning streak to seven. Abbeville never let Thornwell get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory on Friday. That looming 17-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Panthers yet this season.
Adam Beiler was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those stolen bases were his first of the season. Tyrique Cunningham was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-2.
Abbeville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .368 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Ware Shoals won against Calhoun Falls Charter on Friday with 20 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Ware Shoals didn't even let Calhoun Falls Charter on the board, marking Ware Shoals' second-straight 20-0 shutout. The win was familiar territory for the Hornets, who have now won four games in a row.
Dalton Boyter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Ware Shoals let Brayden Madden and Jayden Johnson run wild. Madden scored three runs and stole Five bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Johnson went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those five stolen bases gave Madden a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of JP Medlin, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Abbeville pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Ware Shoals, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Abbeville has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Ware Shoals struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Abbeville took their victory against Ware Shoals in their previous meeting last Tuesday by a conclusive 11-3. Will Abbeville repeat their success, or does Ware Shoals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
