Paradise Honors is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Tucson High Magnet School just ended the team's nine-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Badgers by a score of 3-2.
Charlotte Glenn was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Paradise Honors saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashlyn Elliott, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Shadow Mountain put another one in the bag last Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 21-2 margin over Coronado. That looming 21-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Matadors yet this season.
Kendal Buck was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Macie LaBate was another key player, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
Shadow Mountain was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive games.
Shadow Mountain's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Paradise Honors, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Paradise Honors has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Shadow Mountain struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Paradise Honors' way against Shadow Mountain when the teams last played back in March of 2025, as Paradise Honors made off with a 17-1 victory. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Matadors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
