The Avalon Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 22 points or more this season. They blew past Bynum 42-15 at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Avalon.
Avalon found their leader in underclassman Brooklyn De La Garza, who scored 20 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which De La Garza has scored at least 25% of Avalon's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Haley Zaidle, who scored seven points.
Avalon pushed their record up to 10-5 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 25.67 points. As for Bynum, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
Avalon will be playing at home against Penelope at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Penelope comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Bynum, they will head out on the road to face off against Coolidge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Coolidge has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 10.
