Caleb Thomas made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Ashton-Franklin Center is 6-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 5-6 otherwise. Thomas was also big at the plate, getting on base in both of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Thomas wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brock Lehman, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Indian Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 11-0 to Serena.
Indian Creek's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Ashton-Franklin Center, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7.
Indian Creek's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Ashton-Franklin Center has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .442. It's a different story for Indian Creek, though, as they've only averaged .331. Will they be able to contain Ashton-Franklin Center's hitters?
Everything went Ashton-Franklin Center's way against Indian Creek when the teams last played back in April of 2019, as Ashton-Franklin Center made off with a 12-6 victory.
