The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. This Friday Lyle/Wishram takes on Oroville in the first playoff game of the year. Lyle/Wishram is coming into the game hot, having won five in a row.
Lyle/Wishram has added another blowout to its collection (now totaling six) after its most recent game. The final score between it and Mabton last week was a 68 - 22 blowout in Lyle/Wishram's favor. At 46 points, that marked Lyle/Wishram's largest margin of victory so far this year.
As for Oroville, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was exactly its strategy in dealing with Waterville last week. Oroville took its game against Waterville last week by a confident 53 - 20 score. Oroville had two big standouts, as senior SETH MILLER ran for 150 yards and snatched up four receptions, while junior Anthony Jamison threw for 201 yards and two touchdowns. MILLER has been a consistent playmaker for Oroville as this was the 3rd good game in a row from him. Additional support came from senior Zane Scott, a defensive powerhouse who racked up 16 tackles.
Their wins bumped Lyle/Wishram to 6-3 and Oroville to 5-4. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Lyle/Wishram and Oroville will really light up the scoreboard.
