The St. Henry Crusaders will face off against the Pikeville Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with nine defeats in a row, St. Henry turned things around against Villa Madonna on Monday. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 8-2 victory. The Crusaders not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 13th (when they won 11-1).
Luke Lubert was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted over his last 11 games. Another player making a difference was Gage Peace, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Pikeville posted their closest win since March 29, 2025 on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past Knott County Central 3-2.
Cooper Scott made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other batting news, Pikeville got a big performance out of Tate Jarrell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple. Gage Burgett was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Pikeville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Knott County Central only posted a batting average of .208.
Pikeville's victory bumped their record up to 14-8. As for St. Henry, their win bumped their record up to 8-19.
