Chambers has been on the road for four straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Victory Christian Center Kings at 7:30 p.m. Chambers knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine games -- so hopefully Victory Christian Center likes a good challenge.
Even though Salisbury scored an imposing 71 points on Friday, Chambers still came out on top. Chambers enjoyed a cozy 87-71 victory over Salisbury.
Chambers' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Markus Kerr, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The game was Kerr's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maurio Hanson II, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Victory Christian Center is ranked highly in their home state, and last Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Indian Land. Victory Christian Center skirted past Indian Land 59-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Victory Christian Center to victory, but perhaps none more so than Justyn Whitfield, who scored 16 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Abdulai Kabba Fanta, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.
Chambers has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Victory Christian Center, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-4.
Keep an eye on the arc in Thursday's match: Chambers have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 4.6 threes per game. It's a different story for Victory Christian Center, though, as they've been averaging only 5.1 threes per game.
