Locust Fork is 9-0 against Appalachian since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Locust Fork Hornets' homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Appalachian Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on December 28th. Hopefully Locust Fork is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Appalachian in Alabama (Locust Fork is ranked 46th, while Appalachian is ranked 256th).
Locust Fork has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 28 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Pennington 46-18 at home. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Locust Fork has scored all year.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Locust Fork to victory, but perhaps none more so than Faith Evans, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Evans' 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hope Evans, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Appalachian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 29-22 to Ranburne.
Locust Fork's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. As for Appalachian, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
Everything came up roses for Locust Fork against Appalachian in their previous meeting back in November as the team secured a 72-33 win. With Locust Fork ahead 48-21 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
