Basketball Recap: Colton Hadley Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Hogarth Kingeekuk Sr. Memorial

There's no place like home for Shishmaref, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hogarth Kingeekuk Sr. Memorial Huskies on Saturday, sneaking past 79-76. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 84-68 last Thursday.

Shishmaref got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Colton Hadley out in front who went 10 for 15 on his way to 26 points and five rebounds. That's the most points Hadley has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Corben Nayokpuk, who went 5 of 11 en route to 12 points and eight steals.

Shishmaref is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.2 points per game. As for Hogarth Kingeekuk Sr. Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Shishmaref wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 76-56 win against White Mountain on the 1st. As for Hogarth Kingeekuk Sr. Memorial, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 92-44 defeat against Shaktoolik on the 1st.
