Baseball Recap: Harnett Central Has No Trouble Against Hoke County

The Harnett Central Trojans made easy work of the Hoke County Bucks on Monday and carried off a 14-2 victory. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Brayden Sears, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Nash, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Harnett Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Harnett Central's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Hoke County, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harnett Central will challenge Overhills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Hoke County, they will take on Purnell Swett at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
