Wichita HomeSchool is 3-0 against Newton HomeSchool since November of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Wichita HomeSchool Warriors on the road again and play against the Newton HomeSchool Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Wichita HomeSchool, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-45 loss to Sunrise Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, Wichita HomeSchool can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Sunrise Christian Academy is ranked 39th).
Meanwhile, Newton HomeSchool beat Liberty HomeSchool Alliance 46-35 on Friday. The victory was just what Newton HomeSchool needed coming off of a 43-17 defeat in their prior contest.
Newton HomeSchool found their leader in underclassman Ella Renninger, who scored 22 points along with seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Renninger has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Rachel Graham, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Wichita HomeSchool bumped their record down to 1-5 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Newton HomeSchool, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
Everything came up roses for Wichita HomeSchool against Newton HomeSchool in their previous matchup back in November of 2021 as the team secured a 59-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wichita HomeSchool since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
