Centennial's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Louis Llinas, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Antawn Smithjr, who scored 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joseph Gayle, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. Gayle has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last nine times he's played. Another player making a difference was Christopher Maxon, who scored 16 points along with seven assists.
Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.
