Basketball Recap: Independence Skates Past Browne with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sunrise Mountain, Independence was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They breezed past the Browne Bruins to the tune of 79-46. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 23 points or more this season.

Independence had a senior duo take command as James Davis dropped a double-double with 25 points and ten rebounds and Anthony Colonna dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten assists. Davis is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least ten every time he's taken the court this season. Rashaad Wilson was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Independence was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Browne only posted six.

Several Bruins players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tony Bayigamba, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Karmello Walker, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 12 points along with seven boards and three blocks.

Independence's record is now 4-1. As for Browne, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Independence didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-51 defeat against Gilbert on the 29th. As for Browne, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 64-60 loss against ALA - Gilbert North on the 29th.
