After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Southside Christian, the High Point Academy Grizzlies were happy to have found some success on Friday. They took down Brashier Middle College Charter 46-30. That result was just more of the same for these two, as High Point Academy also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Leading High Point Academy to victory were Cherri Yates and Chantel Lyles. Yates scored 18 points along with seven rebounds, while Lyles scored 13 points along with nine assists and seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Caraway, who scored six points along with six steals.
High Point Academy's win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Brashier Middle College Charter, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. High Point Academy's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Christ Church Episcopal at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. Brashier Middle College Charter will take on St. Joseph's Catholic at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully St. Joseph's Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
