Prospect had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Conant Cougars. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 6-5 victory the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Prospect pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.6 runs across that stretch. As for Conant, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prospect will host Wheeling at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The Knights are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Conant, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Palatine at 4:45 p.m.
