The La Jolla Vikings entered their tilt with the Canyon Hills Rattlers with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. La Jolla managed a 57-51 victory over Canyon Hills on Tuesday. This was payback for La Jolla, who suffered a 58-47 defeat the last time these two teams met.
La Jolla got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lance Braga out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Braga has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jackson Diehl, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds.
La Jolla has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season. As for Canyon Hills, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-7.
La Jolla will be playing at home against Clairemont at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. La Jolla knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Clairemont likes a good challenge. As for Canyon Hills, they will head out on the road to take on Point Loma at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in California (Point Loma is ranked 438th, while Canyon Hills is ranked 449th).
