Lakeside had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were beaten by the Hemet Bulldogs 41-0 on Monday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hemet to victory, but perhaps none more so than Morgan Clark, who picked up 76 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Clark also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, defending one pass and snagged an interception. Jeglia Butler made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Lakeside is set to take on their familiar foe Poly on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hemet will face off against rival Moreno Valley at 7:15 p.m. on the 19th.
