3A Tri-Valley recap September 10, 2013
Silver Creek took down Centaurus 48-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Mead made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,445 from 7,069. The advance stemmed from a 47-6 victory over St. Mary's last week.
Randy Molinar was the most successful running back in 3A Tri-Valley this week. In 11 carries, he ran for 96 yards as Roosevelt topped Lewis-Palmer. Teammate Kane Kratz added to the ground attack by rushing for 57 yards.
Griffin Nelson put up the best numbers through the air as the Maverick defeated the Pirates. He finished with 15 completions for 268 yards and 5 touchdowns. Nelson's favorite target this week was Aaron Cheung, who caught 6 passes for 69 yards.
Brenden Fulton was a passing and rushing force as the Grizzlies defeated the Rangers. He completed 25 passes for 321 yards and 3 touchdowns and also ran for 33 yards. Fulton's key target this week was Frye, who caught 10 passes for 138 yards.
Frye was the best receiver in the league this week as Northridge topped Lewis-Palmer. Kayson Werner helped Northridge's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 63 yards.
He went 15-19 with 1 interceptions.
Jeff Fulton's team's Fulton and Frye have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-9 quarterback Fulton has thrown for 501 yards this season, while Frye has 12 catches for 212 yards. The Roughriders' Molinar leads the league in rushing yards with 370.
The Raptors led 3A Tri-Valley in scoring this week after putting up 48 points on the Warriors.
