Ithaca added to the longest winning streak in Tri-Valley - West this week by beating Meridian, 36-0. The victory was the 10th in a row for the Yellowjackets.
Ithaca took down the Mustangs 36-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Travis Smith threw for 256 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 76 yards during the win.
Terry Hessbrook's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Smith contributed 76 yards. Jacob Smith helped Ithaca's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 59 yards.
He went 17-31 with 2 interceptions.
Smith was the best running back in the league this week. Bryan Shaw also contributed to the rushing game with 57 yards on the ground.
The Yellowjackets' Smith and Logan Hessbrook have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-3 quarterback Smith has thrown for 2,095 yards this season, while Hessbrook has 34 catches for 666 yards. St. Charles's Kevin Brownlie leads the league in rushing yards with 1,001.
