The Sky View Bobcats will play host again and welcome the Westlake Thunder, where tip off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Last Saturday, it was a hard-fought match, but Sky View had to settle for a 51-48 defeat against Snow Canyon.
Sky View's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Claire Fischer, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds, and Makena Smart who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Fischer scored 15 or more points.
Sky View struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Westlake entered their tilt with Riverton with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Westlake blew past Riverton, posting a 60-33 victory on the road. With that win, Westlake brought their scoring average up to 50.8 points per game.
Austyn Feller continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 18 points along with five steals. The matchup was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jada Willis, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Sky View's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Westlake, their victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-3.
Thursday's contest is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Sky View have been dynamite from deep this season, having only made 32.6% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Westlake struggles in that department as they've only nailed 36.9% of their threes per game this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out. Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
